Phonetics
21.05.2025
Iyabode (2011) notes that "Phonetics describes the ways in which sounds are produced and the points at which they are articulated" (p.1). That is, it focuses on how sounds are produced, transmitted, and perceived in a language. It describes the physiological processes involved in the production of sounds, the acoustic properties of these sounds, and how they are perceived by the human ear.
