Define what is a content word and give two examples.
Content words
Content words, also called lexical words, are terms that possess their own meaning and convey substantial information in a sentence. According to Iyabode (2011), these words "usually carry stress" (p. 53) and belong to grammatical categories such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs.
Example
- "The book is on the table." (Transmite un concepto tangible).
- "She runs every morning." (Expresa una acción específica).
